EcoTank Holdings Inc. Acquires Serpa Steel Custom Fabrication Inc., Advancing Ontario Manufacturing Capabilities

Orangeville, Ontario — EcoTank Holdings Inc. has officially completed the acquisition of Serpa Steel Custom Fabrication, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued expansion of Ontario-based manufacturing and innovation.

The two companies began working together in October 2023 while exploring the development of a new prototype tank design. What started as a collaborative engineering initiative evolved into a strategic partnership focused on strengthening domestic production and advancing product innovation. The acquisition was finalized in August 2025.

During the prototype phase, Serpa Steel President, Alex Serpa proposed a fully reimagined structural design for the EcoTank system. Following a year of research, engineering, and testing, the redesigned tank was introduced delivering enhanced manufacturing efficiency, structural optimization, and long-term scalability.

Today, the entire structural body of every EcoTank unit, excluding plumbing and electrical components is fabricated by Serpa Steel in Orangeville.

A Strategic Investment in Local Manufacturing

The acquisition builds on EcoTank’s previously announced $1.67 million investment, supported by the Ontario government, to reshore production and expand operations within Dufferin County. The investment includes the development of a new EcoTank facility and the installation of an advanced assembly line to support increased production capacity.

While EcoTank and Serpa Steel continue to operate as distinct entities, the acquisition strengthens operational alignment between structural fabrication and final assembly, improving coordination, production efficiency, and long-term growth capacity.

Approximately 90% of supporting materials used in EcoTank production are sourced from Ontario suppliers, reinforcing the company’s commitment to strengthening the provincial supply chain and supporting local industry.

Built in Ontario, Built to Scale

Beyond operational growth, the acquisition represents a long-term investment in the Orangeville and Dufferin County economy. The EcoTank partnership has expanded Serpa Steel’s production capacity through targeted investments in equipment, engineering, and labour. Serpa Steel employs a team of skilled professionals, including welders, labourers, designers, and engineers — each playing a specialized role in delivering precision fabrication services.
